1/2 CUP(S) butter softened
1/2 CUP(S) shortening
1 1/2 CUP(S) plus to TSP sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 CUP(S) flour
2 TSP cream of tartar
1 TSP baking soda
1/2 TSP salt
2 TSP ground cinnamon

Preheat over to 400 degrees F.
In a large bowl combine the butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups of sugar, and eggs.
Mix thoroughly with a mixer until well combined about 1-2 minutes.
Sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
Stir flour mixture into butter mixture slowly.
In a small bowl stir together the remaining 2 TSP of sugar and ground cinnamon.
Shape dough into 1 1/2 inch balls.
Roll each ball into cinnamon/sugar mixture.
Arrange the balls 2 in apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake until the edges of the cookies are set, but the centers are still soft. Approximately 8-10 minutes.
Transfer cookies to wire racks for cooling.
Store in air tight container.
