Candied Bacon
Submitted By: Mrs. Claus
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 6
1 LB(S) bacon
1/2 CUP(S) brown sugar
1 TBSP dry mustard
1/2 TSP cinnamon
1/4 TSP nutmeg
1/4 TSP cayenne powder
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Wrapping a baking sheet in foil.
Place a baking rack on the foiled baking sheet.
In a mixing bowl blend together brown sugar, dry mustard, cinnamon, nutmeg and cayenne.
Twist each slice of bacon and roll in the mixture.
Place on baking rack.
Bake for 25 minutes.
The finished bacon should look browned and crispy. If your bacon needs to cook for a bit longer leave it for another 5 minutes, but be careful, you don’t want to over cook it as the brown sugar mixture can begin to burn.
Special Notes:
~The elves and Santa love it when I twist them into candy cane shapes. =)
~Be sure to use the baking rack or they will end up retaining too much grease and will not be as crunchy or tasty.
