How to Measure Your Reindeer

How to Measure Your Reindeer

Every day in Santa's Reindeer stables, the elves have to measure Santa's Reindeer in order to determine the correct amount of feed to exercise ratio for each of the reindeer. You would think that the reindeer's size would remain somewhat the same over a period of time; however, Santa's Reindeer are quite different. The more they work out (and during their delivery runs) they actually shrink up a little bit since they are burning off so much energy.

This does not happen quite as much with regular reindeer. If you have reindeer of your own (like most elves do) it is recommended that you measure them from time to time to make sure that their feed to exercise ratio does not need to be adjusted. This is extra important when they are babies (calves) and growing rapidly. Did you know that a baby reindeer can double its weight in just 10 days? They grow quite a bit in length and height too. Keeping a good measurement data can help you know how much to feed them and will keep your reindeer happy and healthy for a very long period of time.

Remember, reindeer will eat whatever is put in front of them, and at any time during the day. They always seem to be hungry and you never want to over feed them. They will eat themselves into, well, just don't over feed your reindeer.
